Without our vendors, Tacofest would be missing two crucial ingredients. Every year, they donate all of the food and drink at our annual fiesta.
Waterloo Region: we want you to help us thank them! Leading up to the big event, we’ll profile our vendors one by one. So next time you are looking for a great meal or local brew, you know where to turn.
Over the past decade it’s no surprise to anyone who was paying attention that the craft beer industry has exploded.
A quick trip to the LCBO or Beer Store used to be a bleak place for anyone who wanted something other than a watered-down pilsner or some overpriced import.
Eventually though, month by month across Ontario, dozens upon dozens of independent breweries starting popping up and suddenly the options were bountiful. You want an IPA that tastes like grapefruit? Here are five! You want ale that reminds you of Christmas dinner? Sure, drink up. You want a Russian Imperial Stout as black as your soul? Well, you may want to sit down because there is a bunch!
The City of Guelph has a long history in spirits and beer, so it was no surprise that since 2013, Royal City Brewing has built a solid reputation for their brews.
Whereas others have filled the market with industrial-sized tanks of beer, Royal City has focused on brewing small, creative batches, each of them unique. A trip to the brewery is often quite different from the last. We cannot wait to see what they bring to Tacofest 2017, but in the meantime, make the trip down highway 7 and see what’s on tap.
