Tacofest Raises $48,000 for CSC!

Friday June 16th promised three thing: tacos, craft beer and cider, and good times. And man did it deliver! We are over the moon pumped to announce that this year’s 5th anniversary Waterloo Region Tacofest has raised $48,000 for Community Support Connections – Meals on Wheels and More (CSC). We can’t stress enough how much we continue to be blown away by our community support! Since the inception of Tacofest in 2013, the event has raised $150,500 for Meals on Wheels!

Congratulations to The Bruce Craft House who was awarded both the Golden Taco and the People’s Choice Trophy. Taking home the Vegetarian Victor Trophy is a Tacofest newcomer and proud victor Borealis Grille and Bar.  And last but definitely not least is TWB Cooperative Brewing who scooped up the Best Brew for their Porter beer.

We wouldn’t be able to make Tacofest as great as it is without our community support! Once again, we welcomed our Transportation Sponsor, Heffner Toyota, an essential part of Tacofest as our safe rides home filled up very quickly. Our Green Sponsor, Your Neighbourhood Credit Union made sure our guests wouldn’t get thirsty by providing our stylish, reusable glassware and helping to keep Tacofest an environmentally friendly event. Awakening the Tacofest vibe was our Entertainment Sponsor eSentire, bringing us Turk and The Hobbits. And a big thanks again to our Print Sponsor, Westmount Signs who provided all the fancy signage at Tacofest. This year’s Photobooth was brought to you by Catalyst 137, and a shout out to our Platinum Sponsors Matbridge Investments and MTE Consultants as well as our Silver Sponsor Pund-IT.

Thank you to The Waterloo Region RecordDAVE Rocks and 91.5 The Beat for helping us get the word out about Tacofest in support of Community Support Connections – Meals on Wheels and More!

We all know Tacofest is a fun filled event, but helping us to keep Tacofest cool is our Ice Sponsor, Bingemans who supplies all of the ice to keep those tasty bevy’s cold!

Thank you to Bre Creative who provided the fantastic face painting and arms…and heads. We always have really great pictures from the event capturing what Tacofest is all about thanks to the very talented Sylvia Pond Photography. And helping us to share all of the fantastic work that our supporters provide us with is My IT GUY, who help to keep our Tacofest website up and running so that we can also share with you how fantastic Tacofest really is! Thanks so much!

Tacofest would absolutely not be possible without all of our amazing vendors! We must give a very big thank you to all of our 16 vendors and 16 craft beer and cider vendors who donate 100% of their food and beverages, allowing all the proceeds raised to go towards CSC.

Tacofest went off without a hitch thanks to our hard working volunteers who ran around all night, helping to ensure the event ran smoothly.

Thank you Saibal Chakraburtty, Matthew Trushinski, Megan Vander Woude, Jesse Ariss, Scott Thomson, Mike Brown, Ryan Ward, Liam Healey and Alex Kinsella. A big thank you to each of you for helping to make Tacofest such a success!
