Without our vendors, Tacofest would be missing two crucial ingredients. Every year, they donate all of the food and drink at our annual fiesta.
Waterloo Region: we want you to help us thank them! Leading up to the big event, we’ll profile our vendors one by one. So next time you are looking for a great mean or local brew, you know where to turn.
Tacofest proceeds go to Community Support Connections – Meals on Wheels and More (CSC), a local charity that works alongside hundreds of volunteers to help over 7,000 clients live in their own homes with independence and dignity. Every day, their volunteers deliver hot, nutritious meals to people in need. Thanks to the amazing support from Waterloo Region, CSC opened the doors to a new facility in 2014, where they prepare between 300 and 350 meals each day.
They have also built their own Meals on Wheels Garden thanks to a donation from 100 Women Who Care Waterloo Region, allowing them to increase the amount of fresh, local ingredients in their meals and combat rising food costs.
When you buy a Tacofest ticket, you help the CSC kitchen feed hundreds of people across Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, and North Dumfries. In 2015, CSC joined the Tacofest competition, so you can taste the amazing food you’re helping to provide. This year, they’re back and ready to fiesta.
